Department Of Forest Product & Utilization

Forest Products including medicinal and aromatic plants have emerged as very important resources not only from the point of view of economic contribution to the society, but also call our attention for their conservation and sustainable use. Such resources are now being considered at national/ international level almost at par with the importance of major forest based products like timber etc. The department is carrying out teaching, research and extension activities and has undertaken various research projects/schemes, many of which have been successfully completed. Presently the department is offering two postgraduate degrees programmes in the fields of i) Medicinal and Aromatic Plants ii) Wood Science and technology.
