College of Horticulture and Forestry, Jhalawar

The College of Horticulture and Forestry, Jhalawar was established in July 2004. It was earlier the 6th constituent college of MPUAT, Udaipur. After the bifurcation of MPUAT, Agriculture University, Kota came into existence through Act No. 22/2013 of the Government of Rajasthan, Jaipur, and since then, the college has become a component of it.

The college offers specialized undergraduate degrees in Horticulture and Forestry, making it the first of its kind in the state. Its teaching, research, and extension education programs are fully interwoven to provide holistic learning.

Faculties and Departments

The college operates through two separate faculties—Horticulture and Forestry—with the following 12 departments:

Campus

The college is located near the historical city of Jhalarapatan on Nimoda Road towards the Thermal Power Plant. The campus spans 165 hectares and includes administrative buildings, academic departments, hostels, and instructional farms.

Significance

The establishment of the College of Horticulture and Forestry marked an important milestone in the history of Jhalawar. It has grown into a premier institution for Horticulture and Forestry, earning esteem from across the country.

Achievements

The college has produced 183 graduates in Horticulture, 79 in Forestry, and 24 postgraduates in Horticulture.
